Last month, UGI BOLD (Black Organizational Leadership & Development) volunteers teamed up with World Affairs Council of Philadelphia and Longwood Gardens during Martin Luther King, Jr. National Day of Service to clean up and prepare the garden at William Bodine High School for International Affairs in Philadelphia for spring.
Volunteers participated in a variety of maintenance and beautification tasks, including removal of litter and debris from school grounds, trimming and pruning of trees and shrubs, plotting out new garden beds for spring planting, as well as preparing for indoor seed starting. UGI volunteers also performed repairs to existing structures in the garden.
UGI BOLD is an employee resource group focused on inclusion, equity, education, and empowerment for Black employees and their allies at UGI.
