After announcing its sponsorship of two para-cyclists in 2023, Antargaz Energies, a subsidiary of UGI International, is continuing its support of the French Handisport Federation by backing young para-swimmer Hector Denayer.
Hector Denayer is one of the rising stars of para-swimming. Originally from Alsace, France, this high-level athlete lives with agenesis in his left hand. He took up swimming in 2016 and, after a spell in Bordeaux, joined Dijon in 2022, where he continues to train. A five-time European medallist (junior) and two-time European medallist (adult), bronze medallist at the World Championships in Manchester in 2023, at just 19 years of age, Hector Denayer stands out for his exceptional performances in the pool.
In 2024, he has set himself the goal of winning gold in the 100-meter breaststroke at the Paris Paralympics.
“Hector Denayer’s determination has positioned him among the elite of young para-swimmers. Antargaz Energies is proud to support this outstanding athlete, whose dazzling career is a perfect illustration of the fighting spirit values we wish to share.”
– Valérie Vicari, Head of Communications and Marketing at Antargaz
Antargaz Energies wanted to encourage the determination of this young prodigy by providing financial support for the development of his sporting career. Already committed to the inspiring careers of female para-cyclists Anne-Sophie Centis and Elise Delzenne, Antargaz Energies has made this new sponsorship part of its ongoing disability policy, developing a culture of equality, diversity, and inclusion within the company.
Through our community partnerships, Antargaz Energies is proud to support organizations like FFH. Courage, endurance and an aptitude for excellence are values we promote throughout our organization and these are shared in the mission of FFH athletes.
“It is with great pride that I join the “ANTARGAZ” family. I would like to thank the teams for enabling me to optimize my preparation, as their support helps to free me from material constraints. But for me, a partner is more than financial support. It means becoming part of a family with whom we share the same values! Those linked to sporting commitment: the demand for performance, discipline, rigour…. But above all those linked to our commitment to society: responsibility, sustainability and fairness.”
